How to communicate with a man

Many singles when on a date often wonder what is the best thing to say or how do I communicate with this person that holds me in the best possible light? Often people do not know how or what could be the best way to communicate with opposite sex. Two men or two women while conversing with each other communicate effectively and clearly. But when this conversation is with the opposite sex something goes wrong which affects the communication. Whether nerves comes into play or not often people can either draw a blank or speak so fast their words are muddled up.

To the ladies out there, in order to make your date a super success, it is very important to understand how men think to assist with ensuring the conversation is enjoyable to both of you.

Males often communicate using their intellect – the rational, analytical part of the brain. They also communicate to share information and not always to build a relationship. Therefore, females need to be more direct in their communication.

In order to bridge the gap of communication between the two, women can change their way of speaking to build a more interactive conversation. Here are few vital points to keep in mind when trying to decide how to communicate with men:
  • Try to talk less and to the point. Men are keen to know the crux of the story and can sometimes show disinterest in a long story. This does not mean that you have to be quiet – just reduce reenacting every step of the way. Be more direct with your communication.
  • Give him the opportunity to talk by asking questions. This also indicates that you are interested in what he has to say, which in turn can make him more interested in you.
  • If you are upset with something talk to it through if you need to but don’t bore him with too much detail. Short sharp facts will bring him up to speed with the situation
  • Try to make him laugh. Everyone loves a good laugh. This will also show that you are enjoyable and fun to be around.
